Privacy Policy
In short: KaraMIDI does not collect, store on our servers, sell or share any personal data. There is no account, no advertising, no in-app purchases and no analytics. Your songs, settings and scores stay on your device.
Who we are
KaraMIDI (package name com.carlofabon.karamidi) is developed and published by John Carlo Fabon, an independent developer in the Philippines (“we”, “us”). This policy explains how the app handles information on your device.
Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information. The app does not send your songs, recordings, contacts, location, device identifiers, usage data or crash reports to us or to anyone else. The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking software.
Information stored on your device
To work, KaraMIDI keeps the following on your device only:
- The songs you import (MIDI and KAR files are stored in an encrypted library protected by a key kept in your device’s Android Keystore).
- Links to MP3 and MP4 files you choose. These files stay where they are and are not copied.
- Favorites, playlists, genres, the reserve list, play counts, scores and your settings.
This information never leaves your device unless you choose to make a backup. A backup is a password-protected file that you save to a place you choose; we cannot read it and we do not receive it.
Permissions and why they are used

Files you open through Android’s file picker are read only with the access you grant at that moment.
Sharing of information
We do not share, sell or transfer any information, because we do not collect any. When you create a printable songbook (PDF) or a backup, the file is saved where you choose; sharing it is up to you.
Payments
KaraMIDI is a paid app sold through Google Play. Google Play handles the purchase and payment. We never receive or store your payment details; Google shares only the information needed to process the sale under its own terms and privacy policy.
Third-party services
KaraMIDI is distributed through Google Play. Google may collect information when you download or update apps from Google Play, as described in Google’s Privacy Policy. KaraMIDI itself does not include third-party advertising, analytics or crash reporting services. Spoken song numbers use the text-to-speech engine already installed on your device.
Children
KaraMIDI is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no personal information, it does not collect personal information from children.
Data retention and deletion
All data stays on your device. You can delete it at any time: use Settings › Storage & Security › Clear Library in the app, or uninstall KaraMIDI, which removes its library and settings from your device. Backups you saved elsewhere are removed by deleting those files.
Security
Your song library is encrypted on the device. Phone Remote connections require the PIN shown on the player. No method of storage is completely secure, but because nothing is sent to us, your information stays under your control.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s update notes on Google Play.
